Welcome to the USS Cousteau NCC-86256!
Welcome to the USS Cousteau, Starfleets newest science and research vessel.
Proud member of Sci-Fisims!
Set in early 2387, this sim follows the missions of The USS Cousteau and her eclectic crew, assigned to the watchful eye of Admiral Sharon Genesse. Her primary mission is to get back to Starfleet ideals, to seek out new life, to explore the unknown, and to discover new knowledge. Attached to Starbase 318, a starbase on frontier space, the Cousteau doesn't shy away from the tough assignments that lie beyond the Federation border. Along the way she helps to maintain a strong Federation presence in support of exploration and scientific discovery.
Are you looking for a new experience in simming? Looking to break free of the confines of other fleet's way of doing things? Looking for a sim that pushes boundaries and even crosses them? Then the Cousteau is the ship to be on!

Hello folks,
I'm Neil and I previously played Dr. Ilyas Zabar here aboard the Costeau.
Now I'll be playing CWO William Hunter - the ship's Chief of Operations and all-round posh English bloke.
I'm afraid I've had to announce a 7 day leave of absence due to some family issues up North that I'll have to see to. I won't be able to get access to the internet while I'm there. So you'll be unable to harass (or be harassed by) Hunter for the time being. Otherwise, upon my return, feel free to grab me for any menial JP you need. I'll be NPCing my department frequently too and poking my nose where it's not wanted whenever possible.
Can't wait to get writing with you (unless I've already written with you as Zabar)
Cheers!
Neil (aka Hunter)

Hello everyone -
Well, we will be embarking on a new mission in the next day or two. I am visiting an old playbook for this one, something that Krax (Captain Swanson) and I have partook in before. This is Krax's creation, but the beauty part about using it for Cousteau is that we can blow the dust off and breath life back into it. Not to give too many details away all at once, but it will take place on a space station, and we aren't talkin about no Federation, comfy installation either. But the beauty part about all this, is that there is a simple plot that you can help partake in, or just write your own subplots either on Cousteau or the station.
So there you have it folks... details will be put up as early as today (if I get to take a lunch break), if not tonight but for sure tomorrow.
Questions, comments, concerns, you know where to find me.

Just thought I'd say hello there everybody. My name's Hiram and I'm 22, turning 23 in November. I'm a theology and ethics student, and I take most of my courses online. I'm generally around constantly unless I'm sleeping, even when I am doing my work I'm usually around. I attend lectures infrequently when the mood strikes me so that's really the only thing I'm gone for. I plan on becoming a medic in the military at some point in my future, but I'm pretty chill about all of it in general. I live in Midland, Texas! Yeehaw.
I love science/religion/medicine and I have taught myself almost everything I know over the years since I was in grade school. I was always a bit of a nerd, lmao. College has been great in teaching me religious history, which is fascinating because I'm weird as hell.
Anyway, I'm going to be playing Valt'ik, your new chief medical officer. He's a cranky Vulcan/Romulan but he's an excellent doctor. I've been playing him for about four months now, though the simm I had him on was a good simm I found I didn't really fit in. I liked everybody and the missions were good and it was active but it wasn't the same as simming with my friend-group so I decided to join here after Sonak (the girl who plays Peter Horn). I'm eager to play Valt'ik since I seem to have found a new breath of fresh air in him, much to my surprised pleasure! I was originally bored by him since I wasn't participating much on the simm he is from, but I seem to have rediscovered his potential. So I'm totally willing and eager to write any JPs you have to throw at me. Physicals, medical emergencies, missions, hell - getting stuck in a turbolift! Doesn't matter to me, I'm up for anything.
P.S: Also, just a sidenote, it appears that the destination folder for character images on the Cousteau is not writeable, so I can't upload Valt'ik's picture to the server. Not a big deal, since my other simm has the same issue, but other people seem to have been able to upload pictures - much to my confusion.

Hello everyone -
Well, I know we have gotten off to a sluggish start and well... this is my fault. My personal life has bogged me down, my career has bogged me down, and well, honestly I was putting focus on another sim to get it up and running after a huge mess (why is there so much drama with simming behind the scenes??). Anywho, it's time to focus on Cousteau, it's time to get her back up and running again.
So with that said, with a new breath of life enters a new character. Everyone please help me welcome Doctor Valt'ik who will be playing our new Chief Medical Officer. Valt'ik comes highly recommended and I am told he is an excellent writer and and is eager to participate. Neil (who played our previous CMO) will be bringing in a new character as well. So changes are abound and I look forward to seeing these two characters being writte.
Now the mission:
Let's face it, the mission was a dud, there is no beating around the bush with that one. Even when I first started it, thinking it out, it didn't totally sit well with me. But, I grew tired of constant battles and fire fights so I wanted to do something where morality and ethics were involved. But alas, it was just not coming together. The Cousteau has had a good run with missions in it's past, missions that were't done by most sims... heck any sims that I know of for that matter. So, I want to keep that tradition going. Cousteau is meant to be different in that we don't go save a race, get into a battle, then get repaired. No... my vision is much different. I want to explore character development, the darker side of Starfleet, and create new and interesting aliens but still keep the ones we have come to know and love intact. So if you have an idea you want to explore, let me know... missions can be of anything and they don't have to even involve meeting a new species it can be contained on the ship itself. But please, any ideas, please share. Greg and I are always willing to listen.
But in the meantime, I am going to try to think of something new. I will just close out the current mission and we will be ordered somewhere else (no restarts or whatever... none of that is needed). Also don't forget there are still kinks that need to be worked out on the ship, the Cousteau after all did just go through a major refit.
That is all for now, let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
